My Travel Essentials – March Favs

Earlier this month I visited my new favorite resort in Mexico. Since Spring is here & Summer will quickly follow, here are some of my travel go-tos that I brought along with me and you won’t need to be on vacation to use them!

This will double as my March favorites!

Dry Oil Spray Sunscreen

I found myself really loving this dry oil spray from Kiss My Face! It’s not sticky or greasy. This spray is super lightweight & still allows me to get a glow while it protects. Also, I love the easy lid! Just turn to open and to close. No mess in your luggage or beach bag. Kiss My Face has sent me a few products in the past and I instantly fell in love! They have a wide range of sunscreens that will fit anyones protection needs. Their body care is amazing as well.

  • Cruelty-free
  • Vegan
  • Vitamin E
  • Coconut
  • SPF 15

Herschel Supply Co. Hip Pack

The fanny pack is back, baby! We’ve all seen them…the “fanny pack”, “hip pack”, and also called “belt bags”. My boyfriend picked this one up for me at Nordys before our trip. I’m obsessed and probably wear this more than I should. *insert crying-laughing emoji* This particular one is called the “Sixteen Hip Pack“. The brand offers multiple styles and sizes of these. Herschel is mostly popular for its simple styles, wide range of backpacks, luggage items and all at a reasonable pricing. The one I picked up was sold in the Menswear section being how large it is. I’ll just say women tend to carry a lot more around than men (just sayin’) & this fits EVERYTHING inside! I tend to wear this more as a cross-body which still makes it super convenient. This doubles as a smaller beach bag. (minus lugging around beach towels, obvi.) I also love to wear this with my day-to-day looks or even to accessorize a street wear outfit. Did I mention how this fits everything?!

  • large enough to carry all your stuff
  • simple, goes with anything
  • well-made
  • can be worn on hip or as a cross-body.

Haloscope Highlighter

If you know me or have been following me for a while you know I live for dewy, glossy & fresh looking skin. Haloscope isn’t your average highlighter product, with it’s dual delivery formula the outer halo has your shimmering shade, while the core is a vitamin rich moisturizer that gives you the best glow with it’s balm like texture. I simple swipe this over my cupids bow, tops of cheek bones, bridge of my nose, eyelids & sometimes under my eyes. The dewiness is perfect! I get complimented every time I wear it! This was great on vacation when I didn’t wear much makeup. I use this everyday in Quartz (pinky pearlescent) but on my trip I used Topaz (a warm-bronze color) and applied in on the tops of my shoulders, collar bones & chest.  I’ve used many highlighting products with being a Makeup artist & this one is my favorite for a natural, healthy glow.

Your Skin But Better™ CC+™ Cream with SPF 50+

GIRL, It’s always been extremely hard for me to love a foundation. I’m someone with acne scarring and sensitive skin. As I’ve gotten older I’ve grown more comfortable with my skin and have stayed away from full coverage products. I used to cover my skin with the most heavy, full coverage foundation that I could find. One that would cover my breakouts, freckles and imperfections. Well…that only made my skin issues worse! My skin wasn’t breathing, the products I was using had awful ingredients and I just wasn’t taking care of myself. As far as my clients go – I’ll always offer full coverage and photo-finish makeup. Full coverage doesn’t have to mean caked, heavy or bad for you! This is my holy grail product! It’s light weight, build-able, hydrating, tons of sun protection + a great finish. This product also has come out with an illumination version as well (perfect for more dry gals).  I stick with the original since my skin is on the oily side. I apply this with my fingertips or flat top dual fiber brush depending on my mood. I only need a few dots of product to even my skin out. My shade currently is Medium Tan but I’m a Medium on my lighter months. I can’t wait to try out some more product out of the IT cosmetics line.

Jojoba Oil

Okay so in my February Favorites post I mentioned to ya’ll that I was trying to take better care of my hair. My fabulous hair stylist (Perry Maas) btw If you’re in Dallas or surrounded areas…she’s known as the hair healer…GO SEE HER. Perry is located at the Osgood Oneil Salon – Knox location. Anywayyyyy.. she’s been preaching this stuff to me for months and my lazy ass finally listened. First off, what a simple yet very needed add to my hair regimen!? I apply this allll over my head root to tip and leave it in as long as I can! Before bed works best for me. I do this 1-2 times per week. My hair is pretty dry so I don’t need to double shampoo it out. This stuff is amazing on hair & skin! I even mix it in my lotions for added moisture. My hair texture is so much smoother, has less frizz & I believe it’s speeding up my hair grow. My man has been using this at bedtime for his hair & beard! There are many brands for this out there just make sure yours in 100% pure.

Body Hero Duo

This stuff is an epic game changer to my body care routine. The Daily Perfecting Cream is amazinggggg. When I unfortunately started to peel towards the end of my trip this saved my skin. Initially the cream comes out thick with a cream coloring, then absorbs great into the skin. After the first couple uses I started to notice the slight sheen it contained from its light-reflecting particles, giving the skin a natural glow.  The hydration it gives me lasts all day & helps extend my tan.

Can’t forget about the Daily Oil Wash. I love to shave with this super hydrating wash. It has an oil like consistency which softens my skin long after its washed off. The wash contains a seven oil blend that cleans the skin to perfection. Not to mention it’s cruelty-free, paraben free, dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic. When this first was advertised it claimed it was “free of scent or fragrance”. The cream fits that claim but the wash definitely has a scent to me. Only way I could describe it is “adult bubblebath”(fresh & clean)…which you’ll have to try it to see what I mean.

The ads for this duo were focussed on body positivity stirring up quite the conversation. Ads were shown on social media, buses & billboards in major cities around the US, making the drop pretty powerful. Real bodies. Real Women.
